📚 What is 4D HYPE’s Copyright Policy?

We care about creative work. Whether it’s music, writing, or videos if it’s original and made by someone, it should be respected. This guide helps you understand what copyright is, what’s okay to post, and how to report or respond to copyright issues on 4D HYPE.

✅ What is not a 4D Hype Copyright Policy violation? 

Here are a few examples that are generally not considered to be violations of 4DHype’s Copyright Policy:

1. 💡 Creating a text post which generally describes a copyrighted work, but does not actually copy from it
   1. i.e the post describes the mechanics and rules of a game, without outright copying the text or visuals from the game manual.
2. 🎭  Significantly transforming, parodying, or satirizing a copyrighted work
   1. i.e a comedian using a few lines from a film or song for a parody sketch or a cartoonist referencing a well known artwork or illustration for a caricature or an artist using small fragments from a range of films to compose a larger pastiche artwork.
3. ⚙️ Creating a text post that describes a method or states a fact
   1. i.e the post describes how artificial intelligence works.

🚨 How can copyright owners report Copyright Policy violations to 4D Hype?

To report potential Copyright Policy violations you can, VIA the following ways:-

👤 If you HAVE a 4D Hype account:

1. Click ‘Make Reportʼ on the post
2. Select ‘Other issue’ > ‘It infringes my copyright’

🚫 If you do NOT HAVE a 4D Hype account:

1. Go to the ‘Copyright Infringement / DMCAʼ page
2. Choose ‘Copyright Infringement / DMCA’ from the drop-down menu
3. Provide as much detail as possible, including links to the copyright content

📩 What steps does 4D Hype take in response to a copyright takedown notice?

• We Review It in Order
  • We process copyright takedown notices in the order in which they are received. Once you've submitted the completed form, we will email you the confirmation.
• We Let the Poster Know
  • If we decide to remove or disable access to the material, we will notify the affected user(s).
• Your Info Might Be Shared
  • Note that because we may provide the copyright owner’s name, your contact information, and the description of the alleged infringement to the affected parties upon request
    • ✅ For this reason, you may wish to provide your business mailing address and professional email address in the Contact Information section of your notice.
    • 🙋 If you do not wish for your contact information to be shared with the affected parties, you may authorize a representative to submit the copyright infringement notice on your behalf. 
• ⚠️ In appropriate circumstances, 4D Hype bans user accounts that repeatedly violate 4D Hype’s Copyright Policy. 

❌ What can I do if content I posted to 4D Hype was removed in response to a copyright takedown notice?

We will notify you if we remove your content for violating 4D Hype’s Copyright Policy. If you believe that your content does not violate this policy or was otherwise removed in error, you may submit an appeal within six months of receiving the content removal message. 

To submit an appeal, follow the instructions in the message you received about the violating content or submit a Copyright Counter Notice VIA:-

3. Choose ‘Copyright Counter Notice’ from the drop-down menu 

🚫 If you do NOT HAVE a 4D Hype account:

1. Go to the ‘Copyright Counter Noticeʼ page
2. Choose ‘Copyright Counter Notice’ from the drop-down menu
3. Provide as much detail as possible, including links to the material prior to its removal (note: the description from the copyright notice will suffice);

📬 What does 4D Hype do after I have submitted a Copyright Counter Notice?

Upon receipt of a valid counter Notice, we will promptly forward a copy to the person who filed the original notice. This means that the contact information that is submitted in your counter notice will be shared to the person who filed the original notice. 

If the copyright owner disagrees that the content was removed in error or misidentification, they may pursue legal action against you. If we do not receive notice within 10 business days that the original reporter is seeking a court order to prevent further infringement of the material at issue, we may replace or cease disabling access to the material that was removed.

⚠️ A counter notice is a request for 4D Hype to reinstate the removed material, and is the start of a legal process that has legal consequences.
