4D HYPEʼs Policy on Controlling or Coercive Behaviour (CCB)

4D HYPE does not allow any Contributions that involve controlling or coercive
behaviour. This includes actions aimed at controlling, frightening, or manipulating a
partner, ex-partner, their children, or their family and friends.

Controlling or coercive behaviour (CCB) happens when:

  • A person is made to feel scared, threatened, or constantly monitored.
  • A person is isolated from family, friends, or sources of help.
  • A personʼs freedom or independence is limited or taken away.

CCB often involves a pattern of repeated acts, including:

  • Assaults
  • Threats
  • Humiliation
  • Intimidation
  • Manipulation
  • Cyberstalking and online harassment
  • Sharing intimate images without consent (intimate image abuse
  • Abuse linked to hatred of minority or protected group
  • Child sexual exploitation and abuse

Because CCB overlaps with other types of harm, we may also review Contributions under
related rules, such as

  • Do not threaten, stalk, harass, abuse or bully
  • Do not send threatening communications
  • Do not impersonate an individual or entit
  • Intimate Image Abuse
  • Sexual Exploitation of Adults

Cross-referencing these helps us fully understand if a Contribution has broken our rules

❌ Why Is Controlling or Coercive Behaviour So Harmful?

The risks linked to controlling or coercive behaviour can be:

  • Life-threatening
  • Damaging to mental health
  • Harmful to income, stability, and daily life

It can cause serious fear, emotional distress, and limit someoneʼs ability to live normally
and safely.

(Note: We also ban any Contributions that attempt, assist, conspire, encourage, or
organise this behaviour.)
